26.03.20Guests & Friends,

Take Away Service

After some further thought we have today decided that we will no longer be providing our take away service to the surrounding area. The simple reason for this is that we don’t want to dilute the business from other local food outlets who offer a delivery and/or collection service.

Community

We have been delivering food boxes full of fresh fruit and vegetables around the Peebles Community to those in need and self- isolating. Our kitchen staff have done a fantastic job in preparing delicious, varied boxes and delivering to door steps in and around Peebles over the past few days. As always, we will continue to support our community where possible, in any way we can.

Bookings

Those who still have bookings or queries about future dates, please do get in touch as we still have our customer service lines open 24/7. We are currently only taking new bookings for the near future for critical staff who are in need of accommodation i.e. healthcare and NHS workers. This is just our small way of helping those who we are all forever in debt to with the current working conditions they find themselves in.

Guests

We would just like to take this opportunity to thank all of our kind guests who have taken their time to contact us over the past week to wish us all well here at Barony Castle and that they can’t wait to see us back in full operation soon! We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the hotel, hopefully in the not too distant future…

Staff

Its times like this we realise how great a team we have here at The Castle! It’s true, your staff are your biggest asset and there has been no better example of this than what we have experienced lately with the team coming together to help the local community. I personally feel very proud to be part of this ‘Barony Family’.

20.03.20 – Dear Loyal Guests & Friends,

In response to the statement released today from the Government, we want to reassure all of our valued and loyal guests we are adapting and doing everything we can as a business to stay in operation and deliver the best guest experience possible.

To do this, we must make some changes, however we still remain open and for that we thank you, our loyal customers and also our amazing team of staff who are here doing what it takes to evolve as we trade in unprecedented times.

Here are our most common questions:

“Are you still open?”
Yes, we are still open and welcoming guests. We have had to restrict some of our services however, as this is advised from the NHS. Sadly, we have closed down our swimming pool and gymnasium today for the foreseeable future.

“Will my Leisure Membership be affected with the latest Government advice?”
No. We will freeze all Leisure Memberships as of today and will extend all time not used once we re-open our Leisure facilities.

“Are you still serving food?”
Yes, we are still serving meals, however we have had to make some changes in order to do so. Sadly, we must postpone all non-residential bookings for meals within our bar & restaurant and reduce the numbers that we allow in at any one time. We have also adapted the layout of our restaurant and communal areas to allow for the advice of ‘social distancing’ to be adhered to. Our service times have been reduced and we still offer and encourage the use of our room service throughout the hotel.

“Does this mean there is no Mother’s Day lunch at Barony Castle?”
We have taken the tough decision to postpone our ever popular Mother’s Day lunch. Our team are currently contacting all bookings to advise of this and we hope to still hold this special occasion for all Mums at another date later in the year.

“Why are you still open when so many other businesses have closed?”
We value and understand what our hotel means as a part of this community. We are trying our best to adapt and ensure our loyal employees stay employed and we will do everything we can give the guests who visit us the best hospitality has to offer, in such difficult circumstances. We feel we owe it to our staff and guests to fight on and do everything whilst we ‘weather the storm’.

So, we are still open, however this is now just to residents only for the time being. We will update further, should there be any developments in how we trade as your hotel.

19.03.20 – An update for all our guests, suppliers and friends:

Following the current situation we all face as we enter a challenging time with the COVID-19, we just wanted to reassure everyone that we are taking every precaution possible to ensure our guests, staff and their health is, and always will be, a priority to us here at Barony Castle Hotel.

All of our guest services are still in operation, however we have had to make some small adjustments in order to work round an increasingly difficult trading period.

Restaurant Service

Our meal service times are now altered to the following:

Monday to Thursday – Full Bar Menu – served 5pm til 8pm
Friday – Full Bar Menu – served 12noon – 9pm
Saturday/Sunday – Full Bar Menu – served 12noon til 9pm

Our breakfast service times are 7am til 10pm, seven days a week.

We are still going ahead with our Mother’s Day Lunch on the 22nd March and welcome bookings.

Also, from Monday the 23rd March we will be offering a home delivery service with-in a 15 mile radius of the hotel. This will hopefully help those who are vulnerable and/or self-isolating during this period. Our takeaway Menu will be posted on Monday and we still welcome bookings for our 1536 restaurant and bar.

Spa & Leisure

Our Spa treatment rooms are still open and taking bookings.

Our Pool and Sauna are also still open, although we may limit access of numbers during busy periods.

We are aware that it may be difficult for our senior members to visit us, so as a goodwill gesture we will extend all of our members over the age of 65 a complimentary two months extension to their membership, that way you hopefully won’t lose any leisure time to enjoy the facilities and your membership with us.

We will continue to follow NHS and government guidelines, in the meantime we wish you all good health and we hope to welcome those we can to Barony Castle Hotel in the near future.

Healthy Regards,
