This imposing 16th century Castle has evolved into a traditional welcoming Hotel, Conference & Wedding Venue, located just 35 minutes (17 miles) south of Edinburgh on the edge of the Scottish Borders.  The lovely town of Peebles, which sits on the banks of the celebrated River Tweed, is only a 10-minute drive away.

Explore the many bike and forest walking routes around Glentress, visit the grand Traquair House or discover the Great Polish Map located in the 25 acres surrounding the hotel.  Rosslyn Chapel and the Go Ape treetop adventure course are located only a short drive from the Castle estate.

Barony Castle Hotel offers 82 bedrooms featuring single, double and twin as well as family rooms and 6 individual suites. The welcoming bedrooms offer all home comforts, a child friendly environment and dogs are allowed in a limited amount of bedrooms. Every room is unique with differing views of the surrounding castle estate, garden and glen.

Relax in the Bar Lounge with a cocktail or a dram from our extensive range of malt whiskies whilst pondering our seasonal menu, constructed with individual tastes and dietary requirements in mind.  Our Head Chef David Fulton strives to source produce locally from environmentally sustainable backgrounds and has been bestowed the Healthy Living Award.

Our leisure spa includes a 10 metre pool with whirlpool bath, sauna and heated loungers.  The gym has a range of Technogym equipment.
