Erin & Kieran

Exclusive Use, Baronial Package

Erin and Kieran embraced a refined, modern-romantic aesthetic for their April wedding at Barony Castle — a day defined by clean lines, elegant details, and the kind of warm spring weather photographers dream of. The Elibank Suite hosted their ceremony, styled with gold chiavari seating, structured floral pedestals, and a sculptural white-rose arch created by Signature Events. Erin’s entrance, accompanied by violinist David Lang, set an elevated, elegant tone: a princess-silhouette gown paired with a custom embroidered veil displaying their initials and wedding date. Emotion filled the room, particularly from Erin’s mum, who poured her heart into bringing her daughter’s vision for the day to life.

After the ceremony, guests stepped into the sunlit courtyard for a relaxed drinks reception, while photographer Brian Cassidy captured portraits using the castle steps, woodland, and soft April light. A standout contemporary touch awaited them: live artist What Hannah Does sketched guests’ outfits as personalised wedding favours, perfectly reflecting Erin and Kieran’s modern aesthetic. The celebrations continued in the Meldons Suite, where Signature Events styled a sleek, editorial tablescape with gold chargers, modern glassware, and a curated mix of high and low rose-and-greenery centrepieces. Signage and table plans by Love Beth completed the look with clean, contemporary precision.

One of the day’s most memorable moments came during the father-of-the-bride speech, which included a playful “Who’s most likely to…?” game using mini cut-out faces of the couple that had the entire room laughing. Closed Entertainments carried the energy through to midnight, closing a celebration that was stylish, carefully considered, and a modern fairytale — a true reflection of Erin and Kieran’s vision.

In their own words, Erin and Kieran described the day as “the most magical, seamless and memorable day of our lives.” They praised the Barony Castle team for their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care, noting that Hannah, the wedding coordinator, guided them through every step and made them feel as though their wedding was her only priority. They highlighted the impeccable attention to detail, the stunning ceremony and reception spaces, the delicious wedding breakfast with thoughtful consideration for allergies and dietary requirements, and the flawless coordination throughout. With the Exclusive Use Package and 75 bedrooms, Barony Castle turned their wedding into a full weekend with family and friends, a memory they will cherish forever.

Erin and Kieran summed up their experience perfectly: for a venue that offers both a breathtaking setting and exceptional service, Barony Castle is unmatched.

Craig & Catherine

Baronial Package

Craig and Catherine’s wedding at Barony Castle was a celebration deeply rooted in the place they had long considered their home away from home. For years, the couple had visited the hotel for overnight spa breaks, each stay reinforcing their love for the peaceful grounds and cosy suites. It was during one of those stays that Craig proposed, and from that moment they knew Barony Castle would one day become the backdrop for their wedding. Returning on 30th July 2025 felt like coming full circle, the perfect place to begin their next chapter together.

Their day unfolded with a soft, elegant charm, featuring baby-blue accents and beautiful floral centrepieces lovingly recreated by Blooming Bunch — designs inspired by décor they had admired during a previous stay. The Elibank Suite, already a favourite space of theirs, looked breathtaking when set for the ceremony. It was an intimate, emotional exchange of vows made even more unforgettable when their daughter, a talented singer and guitarist, performed for them before the meal. Her music filled the room with a tenderness that moved both the couple and their guests.

The celebration continued with thoughtful touches that reflected Craig and Catherine’s warmth, including fridge-magnet favours featuring the Castle logo and wedding date — a small but meaningful keepsake of their day. As they wandered the grounds with photographer Brian Cassidy, they revisited the very spot where Craig had proposed, recreating the moment in a beautiful full-circle memory captured forever. Brian, along with every supplier recommended through the Baronial package, played a meaningful role in the day. The couple later shared how impressed they were with every member of the team: from Brian and his wife Irene, to florist Lynsey at Blooming Bunch, to makeup artist Beth Ritchie and hairdresser Emily French — all described as kind, friendly, and exceptional at what they do.

Planning their wedding was a smooth and enjoyable experience thanks to their wedding planner, Hannah, whom they described as guiding them every step of the way and ensuring everything ran flawlessly. Catherine and Craig also expressed heartfelt gratitude for Sarah, who supported them throughout the wedding day itself. Many guests stayed for two nights and spoke warmly of the food, drinks, and attentive service — something the couple had always loved from their previous stays. As part of their package, the tasting experience allowed them to enjoy all four courses with accompanying drinks, and they were blown away by the quality. The guest bedrooms, particularly the Dean View and Eddleston suites, became part of their cherished Barony experience, and the couple even extended their stay an extra night after the wedding, something they highly recommend.

Barony Castle’s grounds left a deep impression on their guests, who were amazed by its beauty, with Craig and Catherine remarking that even after years of visiting, they still discover new corners during their walks. The Elibank and Meldons function rooms looked stunning on the day, bringing together all the aesthetic elements they loved. Their wedding was, to them, nothing short of magical — so much so that they shared how they “wish they could do it all again.”

Ross & Chloe

Castle Package

Chloe and Ross’s October 2024 wedding at Barony Castle was a celebration infused with nature, warmth, and a real sense of authenticity. From the moment they first visited, they knew the outdoor pagan altar was exactly where they wanted to exchange their vows. Even with the unpredictability of Scottish autumn weather, they were determined to marry outside — and their determination paid off. The forest provided a breathtaking backdrop, with rich autumnal tones and a peaceful atmosphere that made the ceremony feel almost otherworldly.

The couple embraced a rustic, autumnal theme that flowed beautifully throughout the day. Forest-green sashes by Beautifully Covered tied the look together, and the reception was filled with golden and white accents that complemented the season perfectly. A standout detail was how they transformed the Murray and Elibank into lively games spaces for the many children attending. The Murray became a haven for older kids with a snooker table and PlayStations, while the Elibank was turned into a soft-play haven for the little ones. It was a thoughtful touch that made the day feel relaxed, family-focused, and full of joy.

Another heart-warming element was Chloe and Ross’s beloved dog, Charlie. This fluffy little star spent the entire day trotting around the grounds, greeting guests, and proudly appearing in photos. His presence brought an extra dose of personality and love to the celebration. There was also a deeply meaningful element to their videography — the groom’s sister captured the day on film. Knowing a loved one was behind the lens added an emotional depth that made the footage even more special when the couple looked back on it.

Their photographer, Liam and Bee, was visiting Barony Castle for the first time, but you would never have known it. He captured the couple in the most beautiful light, making the most of the grounds, the forest altar, and the changing autumn leaves. The result was a stunning blend of natural beauty and genuine emotion that reflected the atmosphere of the day perfectly.

Chloe and Ross were incredibly thoughtful in sharing their experience of Barony Castle. They described the venue as “underrated and worth a visit,” especially for couples searching for woodland settings in Scotland — something surprisingly hard to find. They loved the forest altar from the moment they saw it, saying it sold them immediately. With over 100 guests, they were impressed by how smoothly everything ran, describing the team as graceful, helpful, and eager to bring their vision to life. They spoke highly of Hannah, who guided them through every detail with care, as well as Sarah, who supported them seamlessly on the day. Even their guests commented on how exceptional the staff were with such a large family gathering. Their words captured just how special the day felt: unique, memorable, and unlike anything else they’d seen online.

They also shared thoughtful advice for future couples planning their own Barony Castle wedding. For the best autumn colours, they recommend choosing the second-last Saturday in October — the foliage is breathtaking if the weather behaves. They also encourage couples to hire a photographer with a drone, noting how stunning the Map of Scotland looks from above. Some of their friends even thought the photos were AI because the grounds looked so surreal. Most importantly, they remind future couples to relax and enjoy the day, trusting the Barony team to handle everything so you can stay present in each moment.
